The second CoffeeCON is coming up this May 4 and DuPage County in the U.S. state of Illinois is this year’s host. This is the event that delves on all things coffee. Those who are lucky to attend this gathering will not only learn coffee facts and the ways to brew the best coffee but they will get the golden opportunity of tasting some of the rarest and most expensive coffees from the different parts of the world.
The CoffeeCON is the event where consumers meet the roasters. A brainchild of Kevin Sinnott, this special event was launched in 2012 with some 1,200 people in attendance. Sinnott lives in Warrenville and has written about the beverage for many years now. This year, the organizers are expecting some 2,000 people.
The Indonesian government has already committed to send its trade minister and of course, its finest coffee.
Seminars will also be held during the conference and topics will include, among others, how to brew a great coffee at home, how to host a cupping party and how to pair coffee with the right food. The target audience for these seminars are home brewers.
Coffee will continually be roasting throughout the conference courtesy of local and international roasters and attendees can even ask for a free bag of beans if they like. A minimal fee of $15 (for the early bird) is required to attend the CoffeeCON. The fee will go up to $20 on the day of the conference and it will include some freebies.
This year’s CoffeeCON will be held at the IBEW building in Warrenville. It is just one of the many coffee-related events held around the world every year.
