Most people love coffee as a drink. Most coffee lovers drink at least one cup a day, some even more. It doesn’t matter if it’s hot or cold, coffee afficionados love the brew in any form.
Of course, drinking isn’t the only way to enjoy coffee. There are those of us who enjoy coffee in a cake or as a sweet rather than as a brew. It’s a different way to savor the taste from this delicious bean.
Try this interesting recipe for Chocolate Espresso Coffee Spoons from the coffeesage. It is a delicious treat for chocolate lovers as well. Plus it also makes great gifts for family and friends.
Ingredients:
- a shot of espresso or 2 tsps dark instant coffee
- 8 oz. white chocolate
- 8 oz. dark semi-sweet chocolate
- Chocloate sprinkles, ground medium roasted beans or colored sugar
- heavy plastic spoons (around 12 pcs)
Melt the half of the white chocolate in one bowl. In another bowl, melt half the dark chocolate in another bowl and add the espresso or instant coffee.
Take half the spoons and dip them in the white chocolate, as far as the base of the bowl (it’s a good idea to have a bowl that allows you to deep the whole teaspoon. Set them aside on a piece of waxed paper to set. Take the remaining spoons and dip them in the dark chocolate then let them set on the waxed paper.
When they’ve set, melt the remaining halves of chocolate again in separate bowls. This time dip the spoons with white chocolate halfway into the dark chocolate then let it set on the waxed paper. Then dip the dark chocolate coated spoons halfway in the white chocolate and set them on the waxed paper as well.
When the new coat has partially set, dip the lower portion of the spoons one at a time into the sprinkles, colored sugar or ground coffee. Make sure not to cover the second layer of chocolate too much. Just a little bit more than the tip would be enough.
Enjoy them or wrap them up in colored plastic wrap to give away as gifts.
