We all know that coffee is a great way to get rid of our stress. Many think it is simply because of the warmth of the brew. Others think it is simply because the ritual is relaxing since coffee – signals the end of a task or working day. Still others say that it is because of the socialization that accompanies the coffee. Actually all reasons are correct.
Here are more good reasons to have coffee breaks during the day:
- Coffee contains antioxidants which help relieve stress. These antioxidants also help reduce wrinkles and other visible signs of work related stress, making one look younger. Do note though that coffee alone won’t remove your wrinkles.
- A coffee break gets you out of your chair and allows you to stretch your muscles. Two hours is more than enough time for the body to be in a sitting position. Standing up to grab a cup of your favorite brew relieves your back muscles and stretches your legs at the same time. It also gets you away from your computer screen which can also be adding to your fatigue.
- A coffee break gives you a change of rhythm or breathing space in your day. It allows your mind to relax a bit. This can actually be a way to spark off creativity since one often thinks better when relaxed.
So, give yourself a break. Enjoy your favorite brew. Just don’t be gone too long from you desk or the boss will be upset with you.
