Vienna is known as the world’s coffee capital. Here, you will find an abundance of coffee houses and different types of coffee concoctions not offered anywhere else.
Coffee in Vienna is served hot or cold, brewed or roasted. It is drank any time of the day and during any season of the year.
Among the most popular coffee houses in this Austrian capital are Wien Kaffee which serves 14 types of coffee as well as organic varieties, The Roast which shows customers how their coffee is prepared, Kaffeefabrik which is a small coffee bar and roast house in one serving freshly roasted coffee and Aida which serves roasted coffee and has 26 branches throughout the city.
Another interesting attraction in Vienna is it Espressomobil, the first mobile coffee shop in the city.
This is a small customized car that serves coffee and Gugelhupf in parks and other public places around Vienna. This three-wheeled Vespa car was transformed into a huge coffee dispenser and was designed with a retro look.
Espressomobil goes around the Vienna capital every day except only when there’s heavy rain, snow and freezing temperature. It normally stops by four locations – in the Sigmund Freud Park at Schottentor,
in the Old General Hospital, at number 39 Mariahilfer StraBe and at the U4 station Spittelau.
Five types of drinks are offered by this mobile coffee shop. Vienna visitors who’ve encountered the Espressomobil are all praises not only for the coffee flavors available but also for the friendly barista-driver.
